A Samsung washing machine that repeatedly restarts during a wash cycle can be difficult to diagnose. The machine may begin filling and washing normally, then suddenly shut off and start again. In some cases, the display goes blank before returning to the startup screen. Other machines may restart when the washer enters a high-speed spin cycle or when several components operate at the same time.
Repeated restarting usually indicates an electrical or electronic problem. A faulty main control board, unstable power supply, damaged wiring, or another component creating an electrical interruption can cause this behavior. Continuing to use the washer without identifying the cause may lead to additional failures.
