Constant use of the oven causes it to clog. Kitchen hostesses use various methods to clean it. There are many ways to combat oven clogging. Pyrolytic cleaning is very popular, in this article we will learn what it is.

What is pyrolysis

This name was born in ancient Greece. It consists of several words:   – pyre – fire, heat; – lysis – decay, decomposition.   Pyrolysis refers to the technological process when high temperature causes the breakdown of various organic impurities, as well as any fatty deposits.   To take advantage of such a technique, you need a temperature of 932°F or higher. This value is much higher than the “classic” cooking temperature of various dishes.

How pyrolysis works

To use pyrolysis, as already mentioned, you need to achieve a very high temperature that will help remove contaminants, along with deposits, by burning.   Note! During the use of pyrolytic cleaning, unpleasant odors may occur. This is quite a natural process. A catalytic filter will help to cope with this problem. It is built into most commercial ovens.   After pyrolysis, it is mandatory to clean the filter. The procedure should be performed once after 100 hours of oven operation. Cleaning can be done by standard burning. The kitchen hood must always be switched on.   Professionals recommend constantly ventilating the room. When doing pyrolytic cleaning, be sure to keep the window open.   Before you begin pyrolytic oven cleaning, you must remove all items from the oven:   – The baking tray; – grids; – racks; racks; rails and other items.   Removed parts are easy to clean using the dishwasher. It is only necessary to set the appropriate cleaning mode. Then the pyrolytic cleaning mode is activated. When finished, there will be an automatic shutdown. During the operation, you will be able to hear various popping and crackling sounds. These sounds indicate the decomposition of grease and its complete combustion. It turns into soot.   When the cleaning is finished, it is necessary to wait a little while for the temperature in the oven to drop. After reaching room temperature, the interior surfaces can be cleaned. They are easily handled with a wet towel or damp cloth.   Sometimes it can be very difficult to scrape off the soot that has formed. A sharp knife or a special tool designed to remove “hard” grease will help.   In the finishing operation, after the final cleaning is complete, all the removed elements are put back in place. The renewed oven can be used again.   During pyrolysis, oven owners notice it locking up. The door stops opening. The locking occurs automatically. This is done to protect you so that you don’t accidentally burn yourself or your skin.   Once the temperature drops to 482°F, the door will unlock, and it will open easily. Only ovens have this built-in feature. If it does not lock, you should call a repair shop immediately. An open door becomes an object of great danger because, at high temperatures, it is possible to get badly burned while cooking.   In addition, if there is no such protection, the door can be accidentally swung open by a small child, dog, or cat.

Pyrolytic cleaning features

This technological process is only possible in electric ovens. Gas systems do not allow very high temperatures (over 932°F).   When purchasing an electric oven, pay extra attention to the quality of the steel from which the product is made. It must be a metal that can freely cope with repeatedly increasing the temperature to “extreme” values. And it must retain its original properties, the physical parameters should not change.   Similar requirements are imposed on the door with fire-resistant glass. This is especially important when a thermometer is attached to the glass. It is necessary to study its characteristics.   Unusual noise may occur when the tangential mechanism is operating. This is caused by operation at maximum power. In case of a very loud, not natural sound, it is better not to clean it.   Note! When operating at high power, there is an increased consumption of electricity, this should always be kept in mind.

Precautions

Pyrolytic cleaning is a hazardous process that requires special precautions. During operation, it is strictly forbidden to touch or bump the cabinet. Children and pets must be kept away from the oven.   The work of the oven should be constantly monitored to avoid “off” situations. Masters are advised to remove easily flammable objects from the room:   – mittens; – rags; – wooden slats and so on.   These precautions will help prevent grease leakage, which can cause objects standing nearby to catch fire.   Are you in need of some appliance repairs in San Diego County?
